The Challenge
As The Picklr expanded into one of the largest indoor pickleball franchises in the country, it needed more than a lighting vendor at each new site. It needed one trusted partner that could deliver standardized, high-quality lighting plans at scale. Sports lighting adds complexity beyond typical commercial projects: fixtures must be impact-rated for stray balls, light levels must stay uniform across the court to avoid shadows, and glare must be controlled for player visibility. The franchise needed a partner offering scalable products without long lead times, sport-specific expertise, consistent quality, and layouts tailored to each facility rather than a one-size-fits-all design.
The Solution
LED Lighting Supply became The Picklr’s preferred lighting partner, built directly into the franchise rollout plan. While standard indoor pickleball courts call for 40-60 fc, The Picklr aimed higher for a more professional playing environment. Rather than applying a uniform package, LED Lighting Supply engineered a custom lighting plan for each site, accounting for ceiling height, court configuration, and facility layout, using Watt Adjustable UFO High Bay Lights across locations. To date, 39 locations nationwide have been supplied, including:
- Kaysville, UT: 8 courts, 65 fc
- West Jordan, UT: 10 courts, 75 fc
- Burlington, MA: 9 courts, 70 fc
- Naperville, IL: 10 courts, 75 fc
- Blaine, MN: 8 courts, 71 fc
- Williamsburg, VA: 11 courts, 70 fc
The Results
The partnership gave The Picklr a single, repeatable lighting specification across its entire network, eliminating inconsistent light levels and removing the need to vet a new supplier for every new location. This standardized approach simplifies expansion, controls installation costs by reducing redesign work, and delivers predictable performance, energy efficiency, and a consistent player experience at every facility. The Picklr has cited satisfaction with the consultative approach, particularly in solving glare challenges across the franchise.
