The Netflix show Instant Dream Home built a backyard basketball court on Ultra Base's Court panel in a 12-hour window, according to Ultra Base.

The challenge
The show transforms spaces in about 12 hours, so every element of the yard had to go in on that clock. Besides a dining area, a fire pit and a playhouse, the design team wanted a basketball court, which normally means a concrete slab.
The solution
The team used Ultra Base's Court panel, which clips together with a patented system over a simple ground preparation. Ultra Base says the installation needs very little excavation, complies with most impervious surfacing rules, and can be picked up and moved later.
The outcome
Ultra Base reports the court was completed within the window as one part of a full backyard makeover. The show's host described it as something that would typically be a job for professionals, which the panels made simple.
About the Court panel
The Ultra Base Court panel is a 1.25 inch interlocking panel that replaces a concrete slab as the base for a backyard or facility sport court. It drains water through the panel, goes down without heavy equipment and comes with edge, corner and ramp pieces. It is rated to exceed 500 psi, with a 5-year warranty.
Key takeaways
- A concrete slab was swapped for panels to meet the 12-hour window.
- The court can be lifted and moved later.
- It sits alongside a dining area, pool and fire pit in one makeover.

In their words
Typically this would be an install for the pros…but these beautiful square panels easily clip together with a patented system and there is very simple ground prep underneath.
