Skokie Park District replaced patchwork court lighting at its tennis center with a single ProCourt specification over one phased weekend, Duvon says.
Results
The challenge
The center runs leagues, junior programs and open play at once. Years of piecemeal retrofits had left some courts over-lit and others dim, with no common standard.
The solution
Duvon moved the whole center to one 400 W ProCourt specification and a single 5000K color temperature, replacing every fixture in a phased weekend so the center stayed open during the week. Each court is on its own contactor-controlled circuit, so courts can be switched off one by one overnight.
The outcome
Duvon reports a uniform 50 fc maintained on every court at 1.3:1 uniformity, instant-on light and a 62 percent drop in operating energy. Park staff report fewer complaints about dim courts.
About the ProCourt fixture
ProCourt is Duvon's 300 and 400 watt court lighting family for tennis, pickleball and multi-court projects. It is made to replace 1000 to 1500 watt metal halide and other HID fixtures. The LED engines are rated L70 at 100,000 hours or more, backed by a 10-year warranty.
Key takeaways
- Standardizing on one fixture ended the mix of over-lit and under-lit courts.
- A phased weekend install kept the center open during the week.
- Per-court circuits allow court-by-court shutoff overnight.
