Claremont McKenna College lit its pickleball courts with ProCourt LEDs and dimming linked to the campus building system, so idle zones dim, Duvon says.
Results
The challenge
The college's intramural program has shifted toward pickleball. The existing lighting fell short for the sport's quick lateral play on the active courts, yet wasted power on neighbouring courts that were rarely used.
The solution
Duvon right-sized the system with 400 W ProCourt heads on the active pickleball footprints, and dropped the unused areas next to them to a low perimeter level. A schedule keeps the courts on intramural-night settings automatically, and court-level dimming connects to the campus facilities management system.
The outcome
Duvon reports 45 fc maintained light and 1.2:1 uniformity for student players, with no manager adjusting controls, and a saving of up to 61 percent against HID.
About the ProCourt fixture
ProCourt is Duvon's 300 and 400 watt court lighting family for tennis, pickleball and multi-court projects. A single fixture produces up to 54,495 lumens. Color temperature is 4000K or 5000K, with 70 CRI standard and 80 or 90 optional.
Key takeaways
- Lighting was sized to how the courts are actually used, not to the full footprint.
- A schedule runs intramural nights without staff input.
- Court-level dimming links to the campus building system.
