River Forest Park District fitted its public courts with ProCourt LEDs on existing poles and a time clock that meets its 10 p.m. lights-off rule, Duvon says.
Results
The challenge
The district's courts serve public play, school team practice and resident leagues. It wanted one specification that worked across all three, without paying for tournament-grade hardware.
The solution
Duvon supplied 400 W ProCourt luminaires on the existing pole layout, picked to balance output, uniformity and running cost within a public budget. A simple time clock with an override switch satisfies the district's ordinance that lights go off by 22:00.
The outcome
Duvon reports 45 fc maintained light at 1.3:1 uniformity and 60 percent less operating energy. Maintenance staff now work with a single part number across the whole facility.
About the ProCourt fixture
ProCourt is Duvon's 300 and 400 watt court lighting family for tennis, pickleball and multi-court projects. It is made to replace 1000 to 1500 watt metal halide and other HID fixtures. The LED engines are rated L70 at 100,000 hours or more, backed by a 10-year warranty.
Key takeaways
- A single part number simplifies a public facility's maintenance.
- A time clock with a manual override meets the lights-off ordinance.
- The spec balanced capital cost against play quality for public use.
