Newport Beach Tennis Club replaced corroded lights with marine-grade ProCourt LEDs on its existing poles at about 75 fc, Duvon reports.
Results
The challenge
The courts sit near the Pacific, and the salt air had pitted the old metal-halide housings and degraded their gaskets in under five years. The club wanted lighting built to survive the coast, with no new poles.
The solution
Duvon supplied 400 W ProCourt LEDs with marine-grade housings, stainless hardware, corrosion-resistant mounts and a salt-spray-tested powder coat, installed on the existing poles to keep costs down. The asymmetric optics were aimed after a site survey and photometric design to light the surface evenly while limiting glare and spill past the court.
The outcome
Duvon reports 75 fc maintained average horizontal light with even coverage, and instant-on operation in place of the flicker and restart delays of the old system.
About the ProCourt fixture
ProCourt is Duvon's 300 and 400 watt court lighting family for tennis, pickleball and multi-court projects. A single fixture produces up to 54,495 lumens. The LED engines are rated L70 at 100,000 hours or more, backed by a 10-year warranty.
Key takeaways
- Coastal sites need corrosion-resistant hardware, not just LEDs.
- Existing poles were reused to hold down cost.
- Instant-on operation removed the restart delays of metal halide.
