Midtown Athletic Club matched the light on its outdoor and indoor tennis courts, so players see the same ball in both, according to Duvon.
Results
The challenge
The Bannockburn club runs a packed weekly league across outdoor and indoor courts. The old outdoor heads were mixed in age and output, and the indoor metal-halide system restarted poorly in winter.
The solution
Duvon moved the outdoor courts to 400 W ProCourt heads and replaced the indoor lighting with linear high-bay LEDs at the same 5000K, so a player going from an outdoor warm-up to an indoor match sees the ball the same way. The indoor courts also got an occupancy sensor linked to the booking platform.
The outcome
Duvon reports uniform light of 50 fc outdoors and 56 fc indoors with instant-on response, and a 61 percent drop in operating energy across both systems.
About the Atlas fixture
Atlas is Duvon's aluminum linear high bay, in versions from 70 to 400 watts. The 400 watt version produces up to 56,000 lumens. It is made to replace 400 to 1000 watt HID fixtures.
Key takeaways
- Matching color temperature indoors and out removes a colour shift members noticed.
- Booking-linked occupancy sensing handles indoor energy use.
- One standard across two court types simplifies maintenance.
