Results as reported by the company.

The challenge

The arena had to support professional-level play and modern player-tracking cameras. Standard recreational high bays fell short on three counts: vertical light, flicker on fast cameras, and evenness around the corner three-point arcs.

The solution

Duvon deployed 150 W CoreBay heads in a broadcast variant, with flicker (TLM) below 0.10, strong vertical light at the camera-side baseline and good uniformity on the floor. The system runs three scenes, practice, league and broadcast, from the arena's existing lighting console.

The outcome

Duvon reports about 140 fc vertical at the camera side and 100 fc horizontal, with uniformity better than 0.7 (max:avg). Events run without extra fixtures, and practice nights use recreational-level energy. It puts the saving at up to 55 percent.

About the CoreBay fixture

CoreBay is Duvon's 100, 150 and 200 watt indoor high bay for gymnasiums and indoor sports spaces. It produces 15,000 to 30,000 lumens with 60, 90 or 120 degree beams, chosen to suit the ceiling height and court layout. It is made to replace 400 to 750 watt HID fixtures.

Key takeaways

  • Tracking cameras make vertical light and flicker core requirements.
  • Three scenes avoid supplementary fixtures for events.
  • Practice nights run at far lower energy than broadcast nights.
