The Club at Omni La Costa has resort court lighting built for exhibition matches, with low flicker and a broadcast scene, Duvon says.

The challenge
The club hosts exhibitions and sponsor events, so the lighting brief went past recreational play. It needed broadcast-quality color rendering, output without flicker for fast cameras and a balance of horizontal and vertical light for player faces in interviews.
The solution
Duvon supplied ProCourt fixtures at 70 CRI with flicker (TLM) below 0.10, checked against the broadcaster's camera specification. Camera-side vertical light was modelled at 100 fc, with the horizontal-to-vertical ratio inside the 0.5 to 2.0 broadcast range over the 78 ft by 36 ft playing area. Two presets, 'resort play' and 'broadcast', run through the venue's existing DALI controls.
The outcome
Duvon reports verified exhibition-level light, 50 fc horizontal and 100 fc vertical on the camera side, with the system switching between efficient evening play and full-output match conditions. It puts the saving at up to 57 percent.
About the ProCourt fixture
ProCourt is Duvon's 300 and 400 watt court lighting family for tennis, pickleball and multi-court projects. It is made to replace 1000 to 1500 watt metal halide and other HID fixtures. Color temperature is 4000K or 5000K, with 70 CRI standard and 80 or 90 optional.
Key takeaways
- Vertical light and flicker, not just horizontal lux, defined the brief for broadcast use.
- The flicker figure was checked against the broadcaster's own camera specification.
- A preset for everyday play keeps energy use down between events.
