Berkeley Tennis Club fitted satin-black ProCourt LEDs with two output scenes that suit its heritage setting and dark-sky needs, Duvon reports.

The challenge
Berkeley Tennis Club sits in a heritage setting where any visible change draws scrutiny. The club wanted tournament-grade light under dark-sky and aesthetic limits, on poles that had to stay visually quiet under a mature tree canopy.
The solution
Duvon matched 400 W ProCourt heads, finished in satin-black powder coat, to the existing pole color, and modelled the canopy court by court so no fixture was shadowed. The controls offer two scenes: a 'club play' setting at 70 percent output and a 'competition' setting at full output.
The outcome
Duvon reports 50 fc average at 1.2:1 uniformity. Members noted better ball visibility against the green court, and the dimmed scene removes point-source glare for people on the elevated viewing terrace. Duvon says the 70 percent scene saves a further 18 percent, on top of up to 62 percent against HID.
About the ProCourt fixture
ProCourt is Duvon's 300 and 400 watt court lighting family for tennis, pickleball and multi-court projects. A single fixture produces up to 54,495 lumens. Housings are IP65 rated, with full cut-off, asymmetric optics.
Key takeaways
- Fixture finish and pole color mattered as much as output in a heritage setting.
- A two-scene control matched light levels to activity and cut average wattage.
- Canopy modelling prevented shadowing before installation.
