How to choose between Sprinturf turf systems

Sprinturf's range is built around the sport and the part of the field the turf covers.

  • Football is the home of the Predator systems. Predator 50 pairs 380-micron diamond-shaped Apex monofilament with SharkTooth slit-film fiber at a 50 oz face weight, and Predator Single Needle combines the two fibers in one tuft, from 50 oz.
  • Baseball and softball turf is built differently for each area. GrandSlam has separate builds for the outfield, infield, clay areas and warning track, and GrandSlam Extreme adds NaturalCool coir infill in the infield and clay areas.
  • Football, soccer and baseball: the UltraBlade range compares nine systems by fiber, face weight and drainage.

Before choosing, settle four things: the sports that share the field, how heavily it will be used, the infill you want (the product pages list it by area), and the face weight and pile height that fit your budget. Each product page lists the specifications and has a quote button.

What is the Sprinturf UltraBlade range?

UltraBlade is a family of nine turf systems for football, soccer and baseball fields, most of them built on slit-film fiber. The UltraBlade page compares them by fiber, face weight and drainage, with pile heights from 1.75 to 2.5 in and face weights from 46 to 60 oz/yd².

What face weights and pile heights does Sprinturf list?

Predator 50 lists a pile height of 1.75 to 2.25 in and a 50 oz/yd² face weight. GrandSlam varies by area, from 42 oz in the outfield and warning track to 60 oz on the mound and halo, with a 2 in pile in the outfield and 1 3/4 in in the infield. See each product page for the full specifications.
