How to choose between VersaCourt tiles

VersaCourt's tiles are all interlocking polypropylene court tiles, so the choice comes down to where the court is and what it is used for.

  • Outdoor courts: the Game Outdoor tile is a 3/4 inch tile for basketball, tennis and multi-sport courts, and the Pickleball Performance tile is designed for pickleball and other racquet sports. The Active tile is a large 15.75 inch tile first designed for driveway and parking-area courts, with a checkerboard look that also suits volleyball and general multi-use courts.
  • Game courts for hockey, shuffleboard and playgrounds: the Boost tile is a 12 inch smooth-surface tile with a raised design that gives a gentle flex.
  • Indoor courts: the Wood-Grain tile is a 1/2 inch tile with a wood-grain look for schools, recreation centers and gyms, and the Compete Indoor tile is VersaCourt's most versatile indoor tile, locking at eight points per tile with a patented grip profile.

Before choosing, settle whether the court is indoor or outdoor, the sport, whether vehicles will drive on it, the look you want, and the warranty. Outdoor tiles list a lifetime or limited lifetime warranty, and the Wood-Grain tile lists 15 years.

Frequently asked questions

What are VersaCourt tiles made from?

VersaCourt says its tiles are molded from a high-impact copolymer polypropylene blend. Anti-oxidant and UV stabilizer additives help protect against color fade and deterioration.

Which VersaCourt tile should I use for pickleball?

Outdoors, the Pickleball Performance tile is designed for pickleball and other racquet sports, and the Game Outdoor tile covers multi-sport courts. Indoors, VersaCourt lists the Wood-Grain tile for basketball, volleyball, pickleball and other sports.

What is the difference between the indoor and outdoor tiles?

The Wood-Grain and Compete Indoor tiles are the indoor options, and the Game Outdoor, Pickleball Performance and Active tiles are outdoor tiles. Check each product page for its thickness and locking system.

Can I build a court on a driveway or parking area?

The Active tile was designed primarily for driveway and parking-area courts. VersaCourt says it can withstand up to 60,000 pounds of rollover weight.

How does the interlocking system work?

Each tile locks to its neighbors at several points to keep the surface flat and stop tiles turning or curling up. The Game Outdoor and Wood-Grain tiles use six locking points, and the Compete Indoor tile uses eight points per tile.

What warranty do VersaCourt tiles have?

VersaCourt lists a lifetime warranty on the Game Outdoor, Active and Boost tiles, a limited lifetime warranty on the Pickleball Performance tile and 15 years on the Wood-Grain tile. The Compete Indoor page lists a 25 to 30 year structural life expectancy rather than a warranty.
