Computomarx provides specialized track and field consulting services and athletics software, founded by Dr. Wayne T. Armbrust in 1975. The company originated when Dr. Armbrust, then coach of the Ohio Track Club and completing his Ph.D. in theoretical physics at Ohio State, developed a computer program to calculate markings for a prep school track installation using techniques from his dissertation work. The proprietary Computomarx System offers computerized calculations and drawings for track striping, capable of handling tracks with arbitrary dimensions, lap lengths, number and width of lanes, finish line locations, and numerous other variables. The system produces both precise calculations and color drawings for track marking projects. Computomarx provides comprehensive track and field consulting services, including facility design and construction consultation. The company's expertise combines scientific training in theoretical physics with extensive practical experience in athletics. Dr. Armbrust has remained active in the sport as a coach through the Computomarx Track Club, serves as a USA Track and Field official, and holds the position of USATF Association Sport Committee Chairman. What began as a part-time endeavor has evolved into a full-time business dedicated to serving the track and field community with technically precise solutions for running track facilities.
