A new chapter in U.S. racquet sports began in January 2026 as Indiana welcomed its first dedicated padel facility, NorthPoint Padel, in Westfield. The venue, developed inside a repurposed industrial warehouse, highlights how global expertise and local ambition are accelerating padel’s expansion beyond coastal markets.
The concept for NorthPoint Padel originated in 2022, when co-founder Jon Omer discovered the sport during a trip to Mallorca, Spain. By 2025, growing media attention around padel’s rise in the U.S. pushed the team to turn the idea into reality. A key step was selecting the right court supplier—ultimately partnering with Padel Alba, a manufacturer with decades of international experience and a growing U.S. footprint.
Transforming a warehouse into a premium sports facility came with challenges, particularly around ceiling height, zoning, and delivering a high-end playing experience. The Westfield location offered a strong foundation with 32-foot ceilings, allowing the team to focus on design and performance. They chose two full panoramic courts, prioritizing visibility, aesthetics, and a professional-grade feel.
Installation moved quickly, with Midwest-based MTJ Sports completing the courts ahead of schedule under the guidance of Padel Alba’s technical team. The result is a modern, automated facility featuring 24/7 access and app-based booking, designed around a lean operating model.
Now open, NorthPoint Padel blends an industrial shell with a premium European-style playing environment—demonstrating how strategic partnerships and careful planning can bring emerging sports to new regions. As padel continues to grow across the U.S., projects like this show that successful expansion depends not just on demand, but on execution.
